Andrew Maciel's Road to Indy

Andrew Maciel
On The Track, Asphalt

Hello, my name is Andrew Maciel. I am 12 years old and a Canadian race driver. I started dreaming about racing cars when I was 4 years old. Finally, at the age of 9, I was able to start racing and haven’t stopped. Since then we have won more than 100 races, including several local, state and national championships. In over 80% of our races we have finished in the top three.

I know to become a professional racing driver, it takes a lot of focus, hard work and support. This is why I am working really hard to achieve my goal of one day racing professionally. I also spend a lot of time on my off the track preparation, since I believe it is equally as important as the work I do at the track. This includes the mental and physical aspects of racing as well as media training, public presentations and fan base development.

I truly believe I can add value to Champion in the area of fan base development since most of the motorsport fan base and possible Champion target markets in Canada and the USA are comprised of people that speak English, Spanish and Portuguese and I am fluent in all of them.

With over 50% of the motorsport fans in the USA and Canada under the age of 45, and more than 20% under 18 (and growing), my age is an additional value to Champion, since I intend to be racing for several years and this young fan base will grow together with me.

Our goal for 2017 is to race in several local, national and international events on the Junior Rotax class and start racing open wheel formulas in the USA in the second semester.

Thank you for this opportunity.
