Let Me Be Your Champion - Brett "The Maverick" Yackey - Nascar Super Late Model Driver - Greeley, CO

Brett Yackey
On The Track, Asphalt

My name is Brett Yackey and I am currently 16 years old. I am a third generation driver and grew up helping on my Dad’s car. In 2013, I started racing my own car at 13 years old. Now, I build and maintain my own race cars along with my great family and crew.
My goals are driven by my determination to succeed. Many hours are spent working in the shop so that the car is at its best each race night. I plan to go to college for mechanical engineering so I maintain excellent grades while also working on the race cars. I give back to my community at every opportunity. I did a fundraiser for Brent’s Place this year, which raised more than $3000 of product donations. Brent’s place provides housing for families with children undergoing treatment.
My race experience has broadened since my first season in 2013. I have moved up each year, won the championship in each division that I have moved up to and learned more about the cars and driving. My experience includes a championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016 at Colorado National Speedway and many wins along the way. I won Rookie of the Year in 2015 in the Late Model and 2016 in the Nascar Whelen All-American Series for Colorado. In 2017, I plan to race the Super Late Model full time at Colorado National Speedway and some traveling races.
My determination to further myself in racing includes learning more, moving up to tougher divisions and racing at more tracks. I believe the Champion sponsorship could help me achieve my goals by providing the opportunity to run more traveling races. I would be a great candidate because of my drive, determination, and dedication to racing. Thank you for your consideration.
