Spencer Bayston
On The Track, Dirt

Following his accident at the Knoxville Nationals in August, 2015 Kevin Swindell became a team owner in 2016, creating a winged sprint car team and selecting Spencer Bayston to drive the #39. Swindell was the youngest driver to ever win a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series feature, and recorded four straight Chili Bowl National Victories. The new Swindell Speedlab team competed in a few races at the end of the 2016 season, and the results for a new team and rookie driver were terrific, scoring three top-five finishes and five top-ten's in just seven outings.
Spencer has competed three seasons in the National Midget ranks, achieving the 2014 National Midget Driver Rookie of the Year, 2015 Chili Bowl Nationals Rookie of the Year, 2015 USAC National Midget Rookie of the Year, and 2016 USAC National Midget Series Runner-Up. His transition to 410 winged sprint car competition has proved to be quite promising for the 2017 season.
The Swindell Speedlab team is anxious to build a full schedule of wing sprint car racing in 2017, with Spencer behind the wheel. The promising results in late 2016 have the team and driver excited about the potential for a great 2017 season. The number of races will ultimately be determined by the amount of sponsorship Spencer, Kevin, and the team can develop. The Champion Spark Plug sponsorship means the difference between a limited schedule of a few races and a much greater opportunity to compete in a full schedule of premier events in winged sprint car racing.
