I am “No Brake Jake” – Jake Layton, driver of the #32 Mod Lite from Fayetteville, NC. I am 17 years old, and I have been dirt track racing since I was 12. I started in motocross at around age 8, but quickly moved on to go-karts and eventually Mod Lites, where I compete now. I hope to eventually move into Open Wheel Modified, or Late Models. I grew up around dirt racing with my Dad; I was crew chief for both his Super Street and his Open Wheel Modified. Then he introduced the Mod Lites in our area; and the tables’ turned-he became my Crew Chief!

My parents taught me important life lessons, like how to represent our family in public, how to set goals, and how to work hard to achieve those goals. Our family motto is, “As long as you’re always doing right, nobody can ever say you are doing wrong”.

I believe Champion should sponsor me in 2018 because I have the tools to represent the company in a positive way. I am always applying these life lessons in both my racing program and sponsorship opportunities everyday!
