The Concept behind this project is I wanted to build a vehicle that works well at driving in all off road conditions, with an emphasis on desert pre-running and jumping. While keeping the build cost at the same price point as a new performance UTV. The base vehicle is a 2001 Ford Explorer 5.0L. The engine has been moved 1ft to the rear to enhance handling characteristics. The suspension setup is a 4wd long travel IFS system up front yielding a total 18 inches of travel with king 2.5 coil-overs / bypasses . The rear is a 4-link trailing arm system yielding 26 inches of travel. The drive train will be a Ford performance Boss 351 bored and stroked to a 460ci, the transmission will be a C-6 reverse manual shift pattern backed up with a Atlas 2 T-Case 3.0:1 gear ratio and 1350 yokes. The axles are fabricated housing, Strange engineering 9-Inches 3rd members with 5:14 gears and RCV 400m 35 spline shafts with 8x6.5 lug pattern all so I can turn 42x14.5x17 Interco Irok tires on Race-line bead-locks.
