This is the Jeep Honcho that Roger Mears raced from 1978 through. Roger won every major race including the Baja 1000, Mint 400. Growing up in Arizona, I’ve been involved in off roading and racing since I was a kid. Like many kids, the walls of my room were covered with pictures and clippings of my interests and heros, most were racecars and drivers. Since 2010, I’ve been searching out significant off road cars of the past and restoring them to race in the annual NORRA Mexican 1000. I’ve completed and raced one car so far but, winning the first NORRA 1000 race was my proudest moment.

The biggest challenge is finding cars, then time and the money to complete the restorations while balancing the rest of my life. I’m grateful that my challenges are chosen and not forced upon me like others that are not as fortunate.

I’m a hero in the garage because I‘m preserving significant pieces off road history that would otherwise be lost, preserving the history is what drives me. Any rich guy can buy a new cookie cutter racecar, but the cars I save are one of a kind and always will be.
